Graduating with a BS in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 1984, Mr. Duffy boasts a distinguished career as a Quality Control Manager and Chief Design Engineer at Pre-Stress Concrete, Inc., Tindal Concrete, and Traylor Brothers, Inc. His extensive expertise spans Structural Design and Plant Engineering, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the design and construction of two prestress concrete plants. Charles is the visionary mind behind the design of Division Five's current facility, reflecting his commitment to excellence. With a proven track record, Mr. Duffy leads our team with a passion for innovation, ensuring Division Five remains at the forefront of the Steel Industry.
Holding a Master's in Project Management and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from The Citadel, Franklin boasts over thirteen years of hands-on experience in estimating, sales, and project management within the structural steel industry. His journey to Division Five in 2018 was marked by twelve impactful years in the Steel Industry, where he played a key role in significant projects, including the Boeing 787 Final Assembly Building in North Charleston. Franklin's wealth of knowledge and passion for excellence make him an invaluable leader, shaping the success and innovation of Division Five in the realm of structural steel fabrication.
Roy founded Division Five in 1996, continuing a career in steel fabrication (currently at 50+ years) that started while studying structural engineering at the University of South Carolina and working for Kline Iron and Steel, where he had the privilege of assisting in the design and construction of television towers throughout the country, including the 2,000ft tall WCSC-TV Tower in Awendaw, SC, the Mt. Sutro Tower in San Francisco, the TV Tower that stood atop the North World Trade Center in NYC, and – although not a TV tower – the iconic 200ft tall South of the Border Observation Tower on I-95 at the NC-SC Border. While President of Division Five, Roy is proud to have been involved with the renovation/reconstruction of many historic structures in Charleston including 1 Broad Street, Planters Inn Hotel (Charleston and Savannah), Dock Street Theatre, and the Gibbes Museum; unique structures including the Preservation Tank for the CSS Hunley, and the Steeple and Cross atop the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist; as well as new structures in the areas of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, educational, religious, and mixed use facilities. Since selling his interest in Division Five in 2018 and “semi-retiring”, Roy has enjoyed the more relaxed role of Secretary/Treasurer, which comes with reduced hours that allows him more time to chase his 10 grandchildren around and help them plot treachery against their parents.
With an impressive thirty years of dedicated service in the steel fabrication industry, Kenneth's journey began as a tacker and welder at Ashley Steel, Inc. His expertise expanded at Palmetto Steel Co., Inc., where he transitioned from welder and fitter to assistant shop foreman and lead mechanic. Prior to joining Division Five, Kenneth served as the Quality Control Manager at Able Iron Works, showcasing his commitment to quality assurance. Since joining Division Five, Kenneth has held pivotal roles, starting as Shop Superintendent and Quality Control Manager before rising to his current position. Notably, Kenneth serves as the Current S.C. Chairman of the American Welding Society District 5 Section 97, a testament to his leadership and expertise in the field of steel fabrication. His dedication and wealth of experience continue to drive excellence within Division Five.
A seasoned veteran with over 45 years of invaluable experience in the steel fabrication industry. Reese's journey began in 1978 as an apprentice detailer, where he honed his craft drawing manually by hand. Following his training, Reese transitioned into roles as a steel detailer and checker across several steel detailing and fabrication facilities in South Carolina. Throughout his career, Reese has adeptly utilized AutoCad for detailing and has also gained proficiency in Tekla. His versatility extends to roles as an estimator and project manager when required. Presently, Reese serves as the Detailing Manager at Division Five, Inc., where his wealth of experience and expertise continue to drive excellence and innovation in steel fabrication.
With 17 years of seasoned experience in the steel fabrication industry, Wiley's journey began in 2006 as a helper at Division Five. Over the years, he has donned multiple hats within the company, transitioning from roles as a welder, fitter, fork lift driver, to a CNC operator. Notably, Wiley also contributed his skills as an estimator in the office for several years before assuming his current position as a Quality Control Inspector.
Outside of work, Wiley enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, and indulging in his passion for woodworking. With a keen eye for detail and a wealth of hands-on experience, Wiley plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our projects at Division Five.
Josh Hund is a seasoned Senior Project Manager with over 12 years in the steel industry. Starting in the shop, he mastered fitting and welding and quickly moved in to estimating and sales. Over the past 6 years in project management, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic planning abilities, successfully overseeing a wide range of projects from inception to completion. Outside of work, Josh loves hitting the water with his three boys for some quality boating time. His extensive industry knowledge, hands-on experience, and dedication to delivering excellence position him as a key contributor to our team's success.
A proud Charleston native, Lauren earned her Associates Degree in Business Management & Entrepreneurship from Trident Technical College. Joining Division Five in 2015, she began as an Administrative Assistant and swiftly navigated her way through document control and assistant project management before settling into her current role as an Estimator. Outside of the office, she enjoys gardening, exploring the coastal waterways, and spending time with her family. With a grounded approach and a knack for detail, Lauren's contributions to Division Five speak volumes about her work ethic and dedication to excellence.
Brent Dills is a skilled Project Manager at Division Five, bringing a wealth of practical experience and leadership to the team. A Clemson graduate with a Bachelor of Science, Brent spent 8 years as a superintendent and licensed contractor before joining us. His hands-on experience in the field includes managing large-scale construction projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring quality control. Brent's strategic approach and problem-solving skills have consistently resulted in successful project completions, meeting deadlines and budgets. His extensive industry knowledge and dedication to excellence make him an invaluable asset to Division Five.
Born and raised in Charleston, SC, Leslie's academic journey led her to excel academically, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Charleston Southern University. With an impressive 20-year tenure as a certified public accountant, Leslie's professional journey includes founding and operating her own successful accounting consulting business for 15 years prior to joining Division Five. Her deep-rooted expertise and entrepreneurial spirit underscore her commitment to delivering strategic financial insights and driving organizational growth.
Charleston native and proud graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, William brings over seven years of Air Force Reserve experience to his role as Assistant Project Manager at Division Five. His background is steeped in discipline and leadership, qualities that he seamlessly integrates into his work. His admiration for the versatility of structural steel fuels his passion for dynamic design and construction possibilities. Beyond his professional endeavors, William enjoys flying around the Lowcountry, fishing and spending quality time with his two dogs. His dedication to excellence and diverse interests enrich the fabric of Division Five's team.
Tara Langdale joined Division Five in November and has quickly become an integral part of our team. Prior to her role here, Tara gained experience as a social media manager and Owner/Operator of her own brick-and-mortar boutique. As an Executive Administrative Assistant, Tara brings a unique blend of creativity and organizational skills to her role, supporting the division's operations and facilitating communication. Balancing her busy life as a mom of four, Tara's ability to manage tasks efficiently and adapt to different challenges makes her a valued member of the Division Five team.
